Last year Buckinghamshire Council was one of the first local authorities outside London granted the power to enforce moving traffic offences through the adoption of the Traffic Management Act 2004 – Part 6. Previously only the police could enforce these offences under criminal law.
Now Bucks want to increase the locations and have identified a further possible sites, two of which are Bangors Road North and South.
A consultation has just started on these proposed new locations and everyone is invited to take part. It will run until midnight on Sunday 29 October 2023, details can be found on YourVoiceBucks.
At such enforcement locations approved devices are used such as automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) which result in penalty charge notices (PCN) being issued to offenders. Offences covered include the environmental weight restrictions on Bangors Road North and South:
- Iver – Bangors Road South – No goods vehicles exceeding 7.5t weight limit except for loading
- Iver – Bangors Road North – No goods vehicles exceeding 7.5t weight limit except for loading
