Nomination for registering as an asset of community value
On 30 March 2023, The Ivers Parish Council sent a nomination to Buckinghamshire Council under section 89 of the Act to list the Iver Heath Fields as an asset of community value (“the Nomination”).
A summary of the nomination is set out below:
- The land is located North-West of Denham Road, Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire.
- The site currently comprises of Iver Heath fields
- The Iver Heath Fields had previously been listed as an Asset of Community Value by South Buckinghamshire District Council from March 2018 to February 2023.
- The Iver Heath Fields are an asset of community value as they have been and are still used by local residents for social and mental health wellbeing. The fields are used by dog walkers for exercise and meeting up with other dog owners to walk together and host a dog club that provides obedience and behaviour training. This has also been a good place to meet other dog owners. The fields have a bench known as Malcolm’s Seat which has names of over 200 dogs, past and present, that have been walked in the fields. The fields are used by the local Brownie groups for nature walks and treasure hunts offering a local space that is open and safe. The land has been maintained in a way the nature and biodiversity has increased over the years giving a home to many wildlife and new plant species including wildflowers. The land creates a perfect buffer between the edge of Iver Heath and the M25 and A412. The land has been maintained over many years by the local community.
We are pleased to announce that Buckinghamshire Council ACCEPTS the nomination by The Ivers Parish Council and includes Iver Heath fields North-West of Denham Road, Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire in its list of assets of community value.
